Status: On call positions only
Payband/Salary Range: Band 3 ($13.00 - $16.26) (no standby pay)
Reports to:Manager, Buildings & Grounds Services, Barrie
Hours of Work:Overnight, early morning, and weekend shifts
Effective Date: Immediate availability through to April 1, (or as weather dictates)
Duties & Responsibilities:

This position requires the incumbent to be responsible for ensuring the safety of the College community members and visitors during winter conditions. The specific duties are:
?Operating College equipment and vehicles to plough snow from parking lots, roadways and sidewalks throughout the property;
?Shoveling and salting sidewalks and doorways (manually);
?Applying salt via truck-mounted spreaders; and
?Completing accurate log sheets during and after each shift.

Qualifications:

?Valid G driver?s license.
?Experience operating snow plough equipment including: snow blowers, loaders, tractors and trucks with ploughs, blades, and snow pushers.
?Physical ability to shovel snow, lift heavy bags of salt, scrape ice, etc.
?Experience in minor mechanical repairs/maintenance.
?Availability to work non-traditional hours which includes afternoon and midnight shifts.
?Experience in the operation of heavy and snow removal equipment.
